O Campeonato Americano de Futebol… Americano, reúne fãs por onde passa – inclusive aqui no Brasil.
O esporte é popular, mas muita gente não sabe do que se trata – ou se surpreende com tamanha empolgação de muitos por aí.
Caso você não saiba muito sobre se NFL é de comer ou de passar no cabelo, eis um excelente vídeo que pode ajudar.
As 32 franquias são divididas em 2 conferências (Conferência Nacional – NFC e Conferência Americana – AFC), com 4 divisões em cada uma (Norte, Sul, Leste e Oeste). Ou seja, temos 8 grupos de 4 equipes.
Ao final das 17 rodadas – a chamada Temporada Regular – , os campeões de divisão se classificam para os play-offs, juntamente com as 2 franquias melhores colocadas nas conferências – não importando se estiverem na mesma divisão. Os playoffs acontecem no mês de janeiro.
As duas melhores campanhas de cada conferência passam para as “semifinais” (Divisional Round), enquanto os outros 4 classificados disputam as “quartas-de-final” (Wildcard Round).
O campeão de cada conferência joga a decisão do futebol americano, o Super Bowl, sempre no início de fevereiro. O atual campeão é o Philadelphia Eagles, que derrotou o New England Patriots.
